Polish Explorer who named Kosciusko

How Mt Kosciusko was named:

As a national hero of both Poland and the USA, Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kosciuszko became the namesake of numerous places around the world. Polish-born traveller and researcher, Pawel Edmund Strzelecki, explored Australia between 1839 and 1843. He climbed and named the highest peak on the Australian continent, Mount Kosciuszko, in memory of the Polish and international hero.
