Mount Hutt with an altitude over 2000m and an ideal south/easterly aspect combine to produce some light dry powder snow and a very reliable snow cover. The accommodation centre for Mt Hutt is Methven, which is located 24kms from the mountain. There are also 6 other local ski areas that are within a couple of hours drive which are well worth a look when the snow is falling. As with the rest of New Zealand, Mt Hutt offers no on snow accommodation with either transfers or self drive being the options to get you up mountain.

Covering over 900 acres of skiable terrain Mount Hutt has gentle groomed slopes for the beginner and also offers easily accessible intermediate or advanced terrain. A 6 seater express chairlift offers bottom to top access without the need to traverse between lifts. With an expanded terrain park and two half pipes there are plenty of options to work on progressing ski and snowboard riding. With an abundance of natural snow which is topped up with man made snow Mount Hutt offers great spring skiing that can occassionaly last long into October.
