Ski Resorts with on-snow accommodation
Want the ultimate on-snow experience? Catch the over-snow transport from Perisher Valley and stay in a resort with the highest annual snow fall in Australia. Charlotte Pass is a great family option for beginners and intermediates or powder seekers. Charlotte Pass is never crowded, as the resort has a maximum limit and accommodation options are great with remarkable food at the Kosciuszko Chalet.
Never been to the snow? Then Selwyn is the place for you. Selwyn ski resort offers a family affordable snow experience with cheap lift passes and a fantastic relaxed family attitude. Selwyn resort runs are ideal for beginners and low intermediates and those wanting snow play. Selwyn also has tobogganing, snow tubing, snow shoeing, and cross country activities. Accommodation is based in Adaminaby just 35 minutes from the resort.
With over 1,245 hectares of skiable terrain and four main areas to ski you will never be bored! Plenty of diverse terrain and 4 terrain parks this is a great all rounder resort offering plenty of snow activities to keep the whole family happy. Accommodation ranges from self contained apartments to luxury hotels with dinner and breakfast. All properties are located an easy walk or a short over-snow ride from the lifts and there are even some some ski in and ski out accommodation offerings. Perisher is a convenient 33km from Jindabyne for people who wish to drive daily. Overnight parking is not permitted at Perisher.
Thredbo Accommodation has a fantastic alpine atmosphere in both winter and summer with bars and restaurants galore. If your looking for a range of challenging runs and plenty of off snow activities then Thredbo is the resort for you with Australia's highest lifted point and greatest vertical run. Thredbo has a village atmosphere with most accommodation and shops in the one area and plenty of Luxury accommodation options. Thredbo is located about 33km from Jindabyne for those wishing to make savings on accommodation costs.
Neighbouring towns with off-mountain accommodation
Just 35km from Mt Selwyn ski resort and 140km from Canberra, Adaminaby offers affordable accommodation options in self contained holiday houses and units. Adaminaby is a great tourist spot for fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts. During the Summer months Adaminaby provides great access to the Yarrangobilly Caves, horse riding and fishing.
Located between Jindabyne and Thredbo, The Alpine Way is a great accommodation option for those wanting close access to Thredbo and Perisher without the cost of being on-snow. For those who are hesitant to drive in the snow, the Ski Tube is located 20km from Jindabyne and give access via a train which passes through the mountain to take you directly to Perisher Valley and the Ski Lifts. Parking is located here for guest staying on snow in Perisher.
The gateway to the Snowies! From Jindabyne you have access to Thredbo, Perisher and Charlotte Pass. Many people choose to base their holiday in Jindabyne during the winter season as this can be a cheaper option for accommodation and also provides the daily choice of which resort will provide the most fun each day. On bad weather days there are plenty of things to do like the local cinema showing the latest movies, shopping, restaurants, fishing in lake, or even a visit to many of the local tourist attractions.
