Wanaka

Wanaka is surrounded by some spectacular lake and mountain scenery and is the second largest ski accommodation centre in the Southern Lakes District. Wanaka is located 71kms from Queenstown and was once considered to be NZ's secret ski location mainly skied by locals. From Wanaka you can ski or board at Cardrona and treble cone, you can also visit Snow Farm for nordic skiingor Snow Park to ride a huge free style terrain park. With good access to some of New Zealand's best heli skiing and increasing facilities in town, Wanaka has become one of the best ski destinations in the Southern Hemisphere.

Treble Cone:

Situated 26kms from Wanaka . Treble cone is recognised by boarders and skiers alike for having many steep runs and challenging terrain that includes drop offs, natural half pipes and a huge powder filled back bowl. Offering spectacular views out over Lake Wanaka and  across the Mount Aspiring National Park there are many photo opportunities along the well groomed and maintained trails. Extensive snowmaking ans some gentler runs on the lower slopes also appeal to the intermediate and beginner.

Cardrona:

34kms from Wanaka Cardrona boasts the most reliable season in the area. Offering over 790 acres of groomed and off piste skiing spread across two main valleys. The front valley area is particularly good for beginners to intermediates while Captain's Basin caters more for the  intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder. The middle valley area between both would have to have some of Cardrona's most challenging conditions. Cardrona can also offer up to 4 half pipes and an excellent terrain park.
